Patrick Mullins is free to ride on all three days at Fairyhouse this Easter after having his whip suspension from Cheltenham halved today.

At a British Horseracing Authority Discplinary Panel meeting this morning his appeal against the four-day ban for use of the whip in the incorrect place was allowed.

Mullins picked up an eight-day whip ban for his ride on runner-up Embassy Gardens in the National Hunt Challenge Cup.

Four days were for not giving his mount time to respond, which he didn't dispute, but the four days for using his whip in the incorrect place have been dropped.

The BHA tweeted earlier:-

Following the first of today’s hearings before the independent Disciplinary Panel, the Appeal of Mr Mullins regarding use of the whip in the incorrect place has been allowed. His suspension therefore has been reduced from 8 days to 4 days. Full written reasons will follow in due course.
