Trainer Henry De Bromhead bagged his seventh winner of a successful Christmas period as his Minella Escape under Rachael Blackmore, landed the Goodbye 2020 Hello 2021 Maiden Hurdle at Tramore today.

De Bromhead's A Plus Tard was one of two winners for the trainer at Leopardstown, in the festival-featured Savills Chase, and having also sent out four winners at Limerick, Minella Escape (2/1) today made all for a seven lengths win over 5/4 favourite Gorki D'airy

Following the race De Bromhead stated “he was a little bit unlucky the first day - he was off for a bit before Navan and I wonder did that just catch him out.

“He is a lovely horse, he won his point-to-point well and the way he jumped there you'd be looking forward to a fence with him in time. I'm really happy with him and I'm delighted for the Halsalls (owners)."

Winning jockey Blackmore was passed by Paul Townend at the head of the Jockeys' Championship during Christmas and following Minella Escape's win, currently trails 68-64.
