Review LIMERICK 14th Jun

Adrian Maguire's Kerryhead Windfarm showed great tenacity to land the Syncreon Automotive Chase at Limerick.

After making most of the running he looked booked for second when favourite Salford City took up the running at the third last.

But as stamina became an issue over the final two fences, Kerryhead Windfarm (6-4) dug deep for Barry Geraghty to land the decent pot.

Pillar Of Hercules followed up his recent Wexford victory by stamping his authority on the www.syncreon.com Hurdle.

Paddy Flood went straight to the front on the four-year-old but had Garryduff East and Armaramak breathing down his neck for most of the two-mile trip, and the trio were still close together as they turned for home.

Pat Hughes's charge (11-8) had plenty left in the locker, however, and eased clear between the last two flights before scoring by a cosy five lengths from Garryduff East.

The trainer is thinking of a winners-of-two at Down Royal or a handicap at Gowran for his next target, and is hoping for more ease in the ground.

Pick Of The Pike was sent off the 5-2 favourite for the Better Odds On Betfair Maiden Hurdle and obliged under a cool ride from Paul Carberry.

John Kenny's charge was one of four in contention turning for home, but Carberry nipped through on the inner approaching the second-last and was soon in command.

The six-year-old ran on well and comfortably held Dr Swanini by two and a half lengths.

Back Of The Pack came from out of the clouds to take the syncreon Ireland Mares Maiden Hurdle under Davy Condon.

The six-year-old looked to have no chance as they approached the turn in, but ran on resolutely and wasn't too far away jumping the last flight in fourth place.

The 10-1 shot flew past her rivals on the run-in and beat Happy Reunion by a length and a quarter.
