Dylan Browne McMonagle bagged a treble at Thurles this afternoon when Nostra Casa asserted in the closing stages to claim the two-mile handicap for trainer Paul Flynn.

The Dubawi gelding won on his first outing for Flynn at Sligo in April and had posted two solid efforts in the interim, most recently when third at the Curragh.

He proved easy to back at 5/1 today but came to fight things out with Weather Alert passing the two pole.

The seven-year-old got on top passing the furlong marker and stayed on strongly to the line to post a two length success.

Browne McMonagle, recording his second career treble, said:-

"I kept it very simple - I was drawn wide and stayed wide and the pace wasn't too strong and I kept it smooth.

“He liked having room and having the bit up in his mouth helped as the last day he backed-out in a big field.

"I felt like I was always in control and felt like I had Conor (Stone-Walsh on Weather Alert) and he picked up well.

"He should be able to step up in grade as he goes along and hopefully it is onwards and upwards."
