Wayne Lordan earned lavish praise from trainer Willie McCreery after completing a double on the evening when Tetard provided a 25/1 shock in the Crowne Plaza Leading Jockey & Trainer Championship Handicap.

The daughter of Lawman was produced with a late surge on the outside by Lordan, also successful earlier in the evening aboard the odds-on Not You Call, to get up on the line.

The result was only called after very close examination, with Cristy’s Call beaten by just a nose and the well-backed 5/2 favourite Bog War the same minimum distance back in third.

Tetard was stepping up considerably in trip after a number of runs over seven furlongs on the Polytrack to tackle the extended ten furlongs here.

McCreery said, “She is a well-bred filly and has got her win now. Wayne was absolutely brilliant on her. He covered her up as long as possible, and I thought it was ride of the year!

“She has loads of ability but it’s difficult to get it out of her. She’s a full-sister to Forces Of Darkness which is a Group 3 winner. I’m delighted to win for the lads (Co. Laois based Grange Park Partnership) who have been very patient with her.”
