The Tony Martin-trained hotpot Lip Service was left to come home a cosy winner of the beginners chase at Tramore.

Davy Russell held his mount up behind the leaders in the 2m6f event before taking closer order going to the second last on the 8/11 shot.

He had got the better of Double Windsor at the final fence when that rival blundered away Sean Flanagan.

Lip Service, who had been placed in three bumpers and two hurdles, went on to open his account in style by nine lengths.

"He's always showed a bit. He jumps well and schooled well in his prep. Fortunately it all worked out well today,” said Martin.

"We'll find something for him in a few weeks, and he can mix it over fences and hurdles."
