Apprentice jockey Wesley Joyce had his claim reduced to 7lbs following a third career win at Naas today, steering the Johnny Murtagh trained maiden Misterio to victory on her 13th start in the Naas Racecourse Handicap (div II).

Joyce was the sixth jockey to get the leg up on the daughter of Society Rock when finishing second on riding debut at Dundalk in February and today the pair went a place better, maintaining a clear lead from two furlongs out to score by two lengths from Intervention

Afterwards Joyce reported “she did it very nicely. She jumped out, travelled really well and when she got to the two furlong marker I gave her a squeeze.

“She started to pick up so I pushed her out for a little bit, gave her a few back handers and she got to the line first.

“That's my third winner, second for Johnny and hopefully I can keep kicking and keep the winners coming in.”
