Adrian Heskin recorded a double at Cork tonight when State Of Origin ran out a game winner of the three-mile handicap hurdle.

There were plenty in with chances three from home but it was Vinnies Time and State Of Origin who settled down to fight it out from the penultimate flight.

Eddie Harty 's charge got on top after the last and kept on well in the closing stages to post a half length success.

The 16/1 winner had been well held over fences at Fairyhouse last time having been pulled up on his only previous handicap hurdle at Clonmel the time before.

"The step up in trip and the better ground helped,” said Harty.

“I thought he would go close on his second last run at Clonmel but it didn't work out and I was pleased with him over fences at Fairyhouse the last day.

"He'll probably go back over fences now that he's won over hurdles."
