Evan Dwan was seen to great effect aboard Thecornerhouse who justified favouritism in the Adare Manor Opportunity Handicap Hurdle at Down Royal.

He gave the Shirocco mare a patient ride to score over a longer trip at Thurles last month and repeated the tactics here over 2m4f.

The Julie Cashin-trained 100/30 chance was sent to the front between the final two flights and quickly stretched clear on the run-in to beat Perfect Arch by four and a half lengths.

There was a gap of 14 lengths back to Bugscuffle in third with So Ladylike completing the places in fourth.

Dwan said, "She's a good filly and she tries hard, she is progressive. The lads have a great job done with her.

"She will probably go on any ground. She has a great will and always tries hard. The 7lb rise didn't stop her there anyway, so it is grand."
