Aint Dunne Yet stretched away in the closing stages to open his account in style in the thurles.ie Maiden Hurdle.

Sean Flanagan tracked the leaders on the 7/4 favourite before producing the Noel Meade-trained gelding to challenge at the second last.

The Flemensfirth gelding was sent into the lead going to the final flight and despite an untidy leap there he pulled away in the closing stages to record a 13-length success over Three Kings

The winner had run in three good maiden hurdles before today, finishing third to Death Duty at Roscommon and sixth on his most recent outing at Punchestown.

"He's out of a half-sister to Merry Gale, and he (owner) has been saying to me for a while to bring him back to two miles as that family doesn't stay. He's really a chaser for next year,” said Meade.

"The owner (Noel O'Brien) is a nephew of Vincent and he lives in the home place where Vincent started to train from in Churchtown."
