Without success since April 2018 Cluan Dara won his first race over fences at the fourteenth attempt in the See You All In 2021 Handicap Chase at Gowran.

John Ryan trains the victorious Scorpion gelding for the Bitview Partnership and Conor McNamara did the steering on the bottom weight.

Well-backed market-leader Odds Or Evens finished with only one behind him for J P McManus and Tony Martin, as the twelve that set out in the two miler completed the course.

Plenty had chances until late on, and fourteen lengths covered the first six home on this testing terrain.

Ryan also saddled that sixth placer, Bitview Colin but up front the patiently ridden Cluan Dara got the better of Conright Boy and My Manekineko by three lengths and the same.

“It’s a long time since he won his maiden hurdle in Fairyhouse but he’s had injury problems,” said Ryan.

“My daughter Gillian was second to Samcro in a bumper on this horse. He had some good form but had tendon issues.

“He’s a half-brother to The Little Yank.”

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Odds Or Evens, trained by A.J.Martin, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal, other than to have a wound on it's left fore pastern.
