Clear top-rated on 138, Waaheb is getting four pounds from Baresi (127), Courtncatcher (124) and Gimli's Rock (128). The Elusive Quality gelding is well capable of giving his best off a break and the last time we saw him he sluiced up over an extended mile and three in a maiden on the level at Limerick. He was a little uneasy in the market that day (despite going off at evens) and you'd like to see him solid in the betting now to bolster confidence. The aforementioned rivals, Baresi (course and distance winner), Courtncatcher (placed three times in five previous visits to Cork) and Gimili's Rock (a character with a course record of one win and four placings in five visits) have work on if Waaheb stays. The others are difficult to entertain.
