This brother to Western Leader and Mart Lane, had jumping experience from his days 'between the flags,' and he impressed on his hurdling bow last month when easily justifying favouritism on his return to action at Fairyhouse. It was reassuring to see, that the triple bumper scorer, retained his ability then, as he'd been missing from action for 574 days. The Stowaway gelding now steps up markedly in trip but the aforementioned Mart Lane has won over three miles. Indeed Western Leader would have achieved the same had he not broken down at Aintree in 2010. Martello Tower is a confirmed stayer and he'll certainly give Outlander plenty to do. He has to carry his penalty though, and he comes here now on the back of a fall. Outlander's stable companion Measureofmydreams is not out of it either. He too takes a big increase in distance, but he's a 'points' victor and is a promising sort as well.
