FormscanBy Gary Carson - A lot of attention here will be on how Aidan O'Brien's youngest son Donnacha gets on as he appears to have a live chance on just his second racecourse ride. He has a wealth of experience on the Ballydoyle gallops and his 10lb claim is sure to prove a valuable asset. Egyptian Warrior didn't run too badly when fourth at the Curragh last time and should have a big shout. Preference is for stable-mate JOHN CONSTABLE who failed to give his true running when returning lame here last month. He had previously ran a cracker at the Curragh when just losing out to the progressive Tonton Macoute over ten furlongs and had shown he stays well when scoring at Navan previously. He still looks on a fair mark and staying trips may bring out the best in the full-brother to Leading Light. Snowmane was well behind the selection in that Navan maiden but seems to have improved since. He won well at Down Royal subsequently before bumping into a smart sort in Lindenhurst at Bellewstown. He looks a threat here. Strandfield Lady loves it around here and comes into this off the back of a game win at Navan last time. A 6lb rise makes like tougher but she could pick up some prize-money. Papa's Way hasn't run since Dundalk in February and looks best watched on his return to the turf.
An extended handicap for three yrs old and upwards (90 = 10st)Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 5lb extra for each race won Any horse rated above 90 shall initially be treated as having that rating and the highest weight allotted shall be 10st. Subsequently, the excess over 90 in any rating shall be added to the weight allotted to that horse. (For the purpose of this note, any three year old rated above 90 shall have the applicable weight for age allowance then prevailing deducted from the horse's rating prior to the original calculation of the handicap)
