FormscanBy Alan Magee - ROYAL CAVIAR was snapped up by current connections after easily winning a point-to-point at Castletown-Geoghegan, and has finished first-past-the-post on both bumper outings for the champion trainer. He scored in fine style at this venue 12 months ago but was subsequently stripped of a Navan Grade 2 victory after an appeal into interference. The form of that race looks pretty solid with decent handicap hurdler Desertmore Stream (rated in the mid 130’s) a long way back in third. A lengthy lay-off has proved no barrier to many Mullins winners in recent weeks. Tycoon Prince made a promising debut in a valuable sales race at the Fairyhouse Easter meeting, and showed the benefit of that experience to win a slowly-run affair at Galway last month. The runner-up Rio Treasure, also trained by Mullins, has since scored in impressive fashion at Cork. Round Tower caused a 20/1 shock when making a winning debut at Down Royal four weeks ago, and the form has not been particularly well advertised since.
