FormscanBy Michael Graham - A competitive contest. Coldstonesober won a handicap chase over this trip at this venue in June. He was rated 108 for that assignment. Since then he has been predominantly running over hurdles where he was a good second at Tramore last-time out. His hurdle mark for today is 102 and he has Davy Russell booked so everything points towards a good run. His record in the north is a win here and a second (beaten a head) in Down Royal. However, TULSA JACK is very appealing. After winning his maiden hurdle at Limerick he was pitched into a Grade C handicap hurdle at Galway. He weakened to be 11th, but was fifth at the second last flight. He has been dropped 1lb since then and also has Shane Shortall taking a further 7lbs off so he should go nicely off a mark of 108 in a grade less taxing than that at Galway. Point The Toes is a Downpatrick specialist who should feature for her backers. At the weights she also has a good chance. Hero De Villeneuve looks to exploit a much lower hurdle mark that the chasing one he holds. He is a short price because of that. It is worth noting though that he has been beaten on all four occasions that he ran here (three chases and one hurdle race).
