The Homer Scott trained daughter of Golan stumbled after the last there and that error may have proved costly as she was soon headed, keeping on well to finish a close-up third. Ricky Doyle again takes the ride on the seven-year-old and carrying just ten stone (with Doyle's claim) she can be expected to go close. Oscar Vespasian finally got off the mark over hurdles at Tramore last month and he was then second to Razia in a big field handicap at Cork. He disappointed at Navan on his next outing before returning to form at Listowel on Friday, finishing a good third to Res Ipsa Loquitor. Jonathan Burke, who was the leading rider at Listowel, takes the ride on the John Queally trained gelding here and his five pound claim will come in very handy. Gretzky has been ultimately disappointing over hurdles to date but he should be able to make his presence felt in a contest of this quality. The lightly raced Beautiful Ben is an interesting contender for Denis Hogan, while the Barry Geraghty ridden You Can't Catch Me and Stephen Mahon's The Yellow Bin are two others to consider.
