Cork Mon, 1st Apr, 2024  Backmersackme John said there was plenty of pace so he was good and patient and delivered him with a well timed run and it was straightforward. I was taken by his win in the point-to-point as he was the only one from the group to bridge the gap and galloped through the line, and did the same today. John said he was very green today and should come on again from it. He isn't the biggest, might get an entry in a winners' bumper at Punchestown and then possibly could run in a maiden hurdle in the summer.

Thurles Tue, 5th Mar, 2024  Blaze The Way I like him, he had a lovely run the first day and is a half-brother to a good horse (Grade 2 winner Enniscoffey Oscar),. I'm delighted with him and for the lads (Brian and Tom Groarke, part owners) who are from Meath. I'd say we'll wait to go hurdling until next season and might go for a winners' bumper. We'll talk to the boys and see what they want to do but he'll be a grand horse over a hurdle and has plenty size to jump a fence. He battled well and is a saleable horse.

Navan Sat, 2nd Mar, 2024  Jumping Jet That was great. It's been a good day, my birthday and all, so I can't complain. She was honest and tough. They went very fast and it suited her well.

Fairyhouse Sat, 24th Feb, 2024  Theatre Native I'm delighted with that. She ran very keen there all the way and, when she learns to settle, obviously that will help her again. It was lovely to see her behave like she did and still finish out the race as well as she did.

Punchestown Sun, 14th Jan, 2024  Easy Bucks it was hard to know coming from England what kind of mark they have but hopefully he can build on it after such a long absence. I sat on him last Thursday, gave him a pop over two fences and was happy with him so we left it up to them. I'd say he can go up in trip and he's fairly ground versatile as he's done all his winning on good ground. It is soft ground here today. He's a nice horse and in fairness he's done it nicely. Mickey Bowen, who is (jockeys) Sean and James' brother, works with us in Shark's and brought the horse over. Mickey and Abby have done all the work with him.

Naas Fri, 12th Jan, 2024  Pats Choice Jack gave him a brilliant ride. He jumped great and travelled great for him. He grabbed hold of him and got him out there early. He was headed a few times but Jack gave him a great ride. He’ll keep going in them two-miles chases.

Cork Sat, 6th Jan, 2024  R'evelyn Pleasure I had to run him back so quick as he came out of Limerick well. They went no gallop at Limerick, he found things so easy so I had to run him. . He ran well in this race a few years ago and I liked him coming today as it was a small field and Mark (McDonagh) kept it simple. He toughed it out well and is really enjoying his racing. The plan is to go to Thurles, over 2m6f, in 15 days time. We had this horse's grandam who I won two bumpers on (in 1996/7) and my uncle and cousins, who part-own this horse, have been involved with this pedigree forever and a day. . Mark (McDonagh, owner) has just gone out foreign so has missed today, but I'm delighted for him and also for a cousin and part-owner Ellen O'Brien who had baby Lily a few days ago.

Punchestown Tue, 12th Dec, 2023  Duffys Getaway he's not one that I'd have had my euro on! I wouldn't have been over confident but it's great that he's backed up the last day and went and done it again. I'm really pleased because he's a horse that had hugely disappointed us. We gave him a break, he wears a tongue-strap and obviously has got a level of confidence from the last day and kicked on forward. He won very well the last day and we'll go easy on him now and probably aim at Fairyhouse on New Year's Day or something in the New Year. Hopefully he'll come out of this okay. He has a little wind issue so to see him getting through that is great.
