The winner, Rough Night (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Wincanton on 21 November 2019 where the gelding finished fourth of nine, beaten by 29 ¾ lengths.
Alex Hales’ explanation that the gelding stripped fitter for its recent run after a break and that, in his opinion, this was a weaker contest compared to its previous run was noted.
Rough Night (IRE) was routine tested.
Following the race, Oliver Greenall reported that a post-race endoscopic examination of Twotwothree (IRE), placed third, had blood in its trachea.
