The performance of Thistle Do Nicely (IRE), which started favourite and finished seventh, was considered.
Gavin Sheehan reported that the gelding was never travelling and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination during routine testing failed to reveal any abnormalities.
The winner, Fair Mountain (GER), appeared to show an improvement in form compared with its previous run at Sedgefield on 25 March 2021, where the gelding finished fourth of six, beaten 25¾ lengths.
Dan Skelton’s representative's explanation that Fair Mountain (GER) appreciated the drop in grade on this occasion and had benefitted from a short break to freshen up, was noted.
