- Stewards Report
Permission was given for Ballydonagh Boy (IRE) to go early to post and for Just Got To Get On (GB) to wear a red hood to the start.
Permission was also given for Cannie Lad (GB) to be mounted in the stables.
The Raceday privilege request in relation to Cannie Lad (GB), trained by Milton Harris, was late being submitted.
Harris was warned as to his responsibility to ensure that all Raceday privilege requests are submitted before 1pm on the day before racing.
An enquiry was held to consider the conduct of the representative of Milton Harris, the trainer of Cannie Lad (GB).
The trainer’s representative was interviewed and shown a recording of the incident and found guilty of misconduct in that he had encouraged Cannie Lad (GB), which had been planting itself on the way to the start, by striking the gelding with a lead rein.
The trainer’s representative was fined £140 under Rule (F)6.
Following the race, Sean Quinlan reported that Just Got To Get On (GB), appeared to take a false step approaching the second last flight at which stage he considered pulling up but was unable to do so due to the proximity of the horses around him and he therefore pulled up as soon as he could after the second last hurdle.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of Just Got To Get On (GB) during routine testing failed to reveal any abnormalities.
