Permission was given for Arthur's Realm (IRE) to wear a hood in the parade ring which was removed before going to the start, and for Noble Crusade (USA) to be mounted in the chute.
Mark Crehan the rider of ARTHUR’S REALM (IRE), drawn 4, was slow to remove the blindfold resulting in his horse being slow to start.
Crehan’s explanation was noted that the blindfold was stuck on the bridle and was difficult to remove.
Approaching the final furlong, Broomy Law (GB), placed third, hung quicky left giving a small bump to ARTHUR’S REALM (IRE), placed second.
However after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Following the race, Joe Fanning reported that Silvestris (GB), placed fourth, was denied a clear run approaching 2 furlongs out.
