Birkenhead (GB) ran freely to post.
Having been checked by the Veterinary Surgeon at the start, the gelding was deemed fit to race.
Approximately 1 furlong out, Buniann (IRE), placed sixth, edged left, causing the rider of Nibras Again (GB), placed eighth, to ease momentarily, but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Buniann (IRE).
The winner, Ventura Flame (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Musselburgh on 3 April 2021, where the filly finished ninth of seventeen, beaten by 6½ lengths.
The explanation from the representative of Keith Dalgleish that Ventura Flame (IRE) was suited by a drop in grade from a Class 4 to Class 5 on a stiffer track was noted.
Ventura Flame (IRE) was routine tested.
