After the second last there looked to be a gang of horses queuing up behind to challenge him and the minute he changed gear there was only one horse, Ballyadam, and he fluffed the last. The Stewards interviewed M.P. Fogarty, rider of Galopin Des Champs (FR), concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In his evidence he stated that his mount had disappointed the last day and he gave him a strong ride today but exceeded the whip guidelines in so doing. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that M.P. Fogarty was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended M.P. Fogarty for 2 racedays
