A close fourth in the 2019 Epsom Derby, he only ran twice as a 4yo but returned to his best in winning twice this year. He comes here with proven fitness and has, this year, already comfortably beaten today's rivals Helvic Dream, Saltonstall and Up Helly Aa. Seamie Heffernan rides November's Melbourne Cup hero Twilight Payment and while clearly high class on his day, will be hopelessly tapped for toe over 1m2f on his reappearance run today. Blue-blooded Up Helly Aa might prove second-best, having run well behind BROOME over course and distance last-time. Saltonstall was well held by BROOME in March and while he ran a much better race when second over a mile at Leopardstown last month, should struggle to win. Ancient Spirit was behind Saltonstall last month but that was his seasonal reappearance and should improve for the run.
