FormscanBy Mark Nunan - FISCAL RULES was highly tried last year before winning a maiden over this trip at Cork. Gelded over the winter, he was a very good second in a 6f Listed race at the same venue on his comeback run and it may pay to forgive his most recent unplaced effort at the Curragh. Lustown Baba, very progressive on soft ground last autumn, was only a length behind the selection at Cork but may be less suited by stepping back up in trip. By contrast, this distance is definitely a bare minimum for Njord, who rounded off last year with a fine success in a valuable handicap at Ascot, and he’s been well-held in two attempts in Listed races thus far. Not for the first time, Snapraeterea acquitted himself well in Group company last weekend at Leopardstown and he looks to be more of a threat than fellow three-year-old Admiral Nelson.
