FormscanBy Tom Weekes - CHAMPAGNE SPARKLES is consistent and can win. His last two maiden hurdle runs have been encouraging and while well beaten by the winner at Limerick latest, today's race looks a slightly lesser contest and he is proven on good ground and at this trip. Now Where Or When is a danger having himself shown consistent form throughout his career. He has contested some useful contests (finishing fourth in a smart bumper at Navan in February) and returned to hurdles with a good effort at Navan last month. Today's trip and drying ground are suitable and he should give the selection a race. Barney Stinson, tried in first-time cheek-pieces, has also shown some useful form. A chasing type, he lacked fluency in his jumping at Gowran latest but might appreciate today's nicer ground with the step back up to 2m4f also a possible positive. Kavanagh's Cross was behind the selection at Leopardstown over Christmas but did improve when second at Navan last month and has place claims today. Staging Post won an August Sligo bumper but is best watched on hurdles debut and reappearance run while Haryey's Quay is similarly best watched, finishing well behind a fortunate winner at Limerick on debut.
