Off a 144 day break and on his all-weather debut Ballydoyle’s Sir Lamorak (4/6 favourite) got it done in the Find Us On Facebook @dundalkstadium Maiden.

Up in trip for this extended mile and a quarter heat, Sir Lamorak was delivered towards the inner by Seamie Heffernan in the straight, off what appeared to be a sedate enough gallop.

The successful son of Camelot drifted off to his right in the final furlong alright, but always looked to be doing enough to defeat Moktaffy and Zaynudin by half a length and a neck.

A little over three lengths covered the first eight home and there could be plenty of future winners among these.

Said Heffernan in the aftermath: “He’d two nice runs and he’s probably a bit stronger this year.

“He goes on any ground. He’s out of a Giant’s Causeway mare so this surface is not a negative.”
