Dallas Cowboy completed a quick across the card double for Gordon Elliott and owners Gigginstown when running out an easy winner of the Garryrichard Stud Maiden Hurdle at Wexford.

Like his stable-mate Captain Von Trappe at Galway he made all the running and proved much too strongly for his rivals in the closing stages.

Luke Dempsey went clear early on the 6/4 favourite before his advantage was reduced at halfway.

He picked up well when asked for an effort going to the penultimate flight and soon had matters in control. Dempsey could afford to ease down on the run-in for an eight-length success.

The winner had been placed in a couple of bumpers last season and had been fourth on his only previous outing over timber.

"There wasn't a whole lot of pace and I knew he'd stay so we just went on," said Dempsey.

"He bowled away in front and he jumps brilliant. I think three miles is probably his trip, he stays all day."
