Chicas Amigas bounced back to form, as she battled gamely to take the feature at the Curragh this afternoon, the Mongey Communications Race, providing her trainer Jessica Harrington with an across the card double.

Successful on debut at Dundalk, the daughter of Dragon Pulse then finished second in a Listed contest at Naas.

She failed to make an impact on her last two starts in Group company, and dropped in class today, she was sent off the 6/4 favourite in first time cheekpieces for owners It's All About The Girls.

Sent straight to the front by Colm O'Donoghue, the bay victor was pushed along from two furlongs out, and was narrowly headed inside the final furlong, battling back gamely in the closing stages to score by a short head. Evasive Power (9/2) was the one just denied, and he had to settle for second under Gary Halpin for Michael O'Callaghan, with Life Mission (16s to 10s on-course) another length and a half back in third.

Harrington, who was on the mark at Cork with Feeling The Love said: "She's battled back but she wants seven furlongs. We'll move her up in trip now but where we go I'm not sure.

"A little bit of dig in the ground might help her as well. Colm said for the first two or three furlongs they were only hacking which probably didn’t suit her."
