Second in the first division with Alfalfa in-form trainer Tim Doyle went one better in the the second split of the 1m1f handicap when 5/2 favourite Wrist Art registered a first victory in decisive fashion under Wayne Hassett.

Soon tracking the leaders towards the outer, the six-year-old moved into second early in the straight and was ridden to lead a furlong and a half out. From there he went clear to beat Qaabil by four lengths to give Doyle, who trains the Sir Prancealot gelding for his wife Claire, a fifth winner in the last three weeks.

“They are running that little bit above themselves at the moment," said Doyle.

"He’s been consistent the last couple of years getting placed but just found that little edge today and did it well.

"Wayne gave him a lovely ride as he did half get a run with him halfway and he got him settled again. He rode him nice and cool and that’s what he needs.

"The ground was ideal as he likes a little ease. There might be something in Listowel over a mile so we’ll see and he’ll be there for the autumn when the ground properly changes.”
