For Robcour, local handler James Motherway and three pound claimer Dylan Robinson Heroes Of Renown justified even money favouritism in the Follow Us On Twitter Maiden Hurdle at Cork.

The 123-rated Listowel handicap silver medalist from last time, had plenty in hand on official figures, over second and third placers, Wasdale Park and Multifactorial

So it proved as that pair, assessed as 109 performers, chased home at distances of three lengths and three and quarter lengths. The victor (a half-brother to Death Duty) seems to have come forward for the addition of cheek-pieces.

"It was long overdue as we always thought he was a nice horse, going back to his early days. Unfortunately he had a little blip in between with a problem with a knee and that put him on the sideline,” said Motherway.

"The ground was probably too heavy for him over the winter and he is a genuine good ground horse and had a lovely run at Listowel the last day, when it was a fact-finding mission to see was he back to where we want him. This looked a nice opportunity.

"I'll chat with Brian (Acheson, owner) and the plan is to go chasing sooner rather than later and I might have a look at one of the handicap hurdles at Galway."

The Stewards interviewed H. McOwan, rider of Multifactorial, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted that he was in breach of the regulation and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that H. McOwan was in breach of Regulation 10.3.g, excessive frequency. Having considered H. McOwan's record in this regard the Stewards cautioned him on this occasion.
