The Friday Man got his hurdling career off to the perfect start when running out an easy winner of the Bar One Racing Bet On Mobile Maiden Hurdle at Bellewstown.

A bumper winner at Tramore under Lisa O'Neill last month, the Gordon Elliott trained gelding moved easily throughout the contest before taking up the running at the second last.

He found plenty when sent about his business by Jack Kennedy who was recording his 17th winner of the season. David Garrick stayed on nicely for second, ahead of long time leader Neverdon who was back in third.

Jack Kennedy said: "He warmed into it lovely and did it well in the end."
