Smaoineamh Sile (17/2) followed up last month’s course and distance victory in the Richmond Homes Handicap.

Soon settled in third by Dylan Browne McMonagle, the hooded daughter of Pride Of Dubai led approaching the straight and was ridden two lengths clear a furlong out. Complete Fiction who had a wide trip from the outside stall, was eating up the ground in the closing stages but was a neck adrift at the line. Darkened was half a length further back in third with International Lady completing the frame.

Winning trainer John McConnell said: “That's great and she was given another good ride by Dylan.

“She was paddling a bit in the end but had been in front for a good bit and was getting a bit lonely.

“Obviously she came forward for winning the last day and hopefully can keep going as the handicapper is going to have his say again. The penny is dropping.

“That sort of trip suits and places like Killarney, front-running tracks, might suit her.

“Peter (Commane) is a really loyal owner and I'm happy to get another winner for him.”
