Seisai (2/1 joint favourite) came home best to win the competitive four runner Listed Churchill Stakes over an extended seven furlongs in Tipperary for Joseph O'Brien.

She adopted a watching brief on the leader Glengarra over a quarter of a mile from home and was soon angled out to challenge by Shane Crosse.

The Gleneagles filly claimed the leader with 150 yards to go but had Tuwaiq for company on the outside.

Tuwaiq (2/1jf) tried hard but couldn't reel the winner in and went down by half a length.

Crosse said: “She’s all tough this filly. There is not a whole lot of her but she’s very good.

“She had to take on the boys today. She relishes a mile and the juice in the ground was no bother to her. That ground today was perfect for her and she’ll probably handle softer.

“There is a strong headwind and it wasn’t easy — she had to be tough. Onwards and upwards hopefully.”

Seisai is now two from four this season.
