The 4/11 favourite Flemencello took the Follow Kilbeggan Races On Twitter Flat Race with the minimum of fuss for Willie and Patrick Mullins.

The market leader made all in the colours of the Blue Blood Racing Club and was pushed out in the final furlong to score by a comfortable four and three quarter lengths from Acleanpairofhooves (16/1). Call Me Jim (4/1) filled third spot with Samos Island giving his trainer Liam Burke a good spin in fourth.

It was a twelfth winner in bumpers this season for the champion trainer.

“She’s a nice mare," said Patrick Mullins.

“She’s leased off (breeder) Cathal Ennis and it was one of his father’s first broodmares so has sentimental value.

“She had to make the running, was a little green but has won as she liked. There was no pace and she had to do it the hard way.

“I think she’ll handle softer ground being a Flemensfirth. The bit of rain was a help.

“I’m not sure what the plan is now. Maybe she will go jumping as she’s five.”
