Mister Beeton got a dream passage up the rail on the run to the final flight before going on to easily land the Ladbrokes Play "1-2 Free" Handicap Hurdle at Punchestown.

For much of the latter stages of this race, favourite Hanoi Jane looked to have the measure of her rivals as she jumped well out in front.

However, on the turn into the straight, the Ted Walsh trained mare came under pressure as a host of challengers emerged from out of the chasing pack.

It was at this point that the eventual winner, with Shane Fitzgerald on board, found a gap up the inner that saw them power clear to win decisively.

“He got a great ride off Shane, he put him asleep and cut every corner he could,” said winning trainer Shane Nolan.

“We were confident enough turning in, he was only going through the motions and once he got the gap I was confident enough. He won well in the end.

“He'll keep tipping away, he loves that ground. He likes a bit of space between his races so we'll pick something out in five or six weeks.”
