Review FAIRYHOUSE 22nd Mar

Perce Rock (6-4 favourite) continued his progression over fences with a workmanlike victory in the Grade Three Betfair Novice Chase.

Tommy Stack's charge put two tumbles behind him when scoring at

Leopardstown last month and although his jumping was far from fluent, he travelled smoothly in the hands of Tony McCoy.

Taking up the running six out, he had to be kept up to his work but

ultimately had too much class for Drunken Disorderly, who battled hard but still found himself nine lengths down passing the post.

The disappointment of the race was Clopf, who could never land a serious blow for Andrew McNamara and was eventually pulled up.

Drumconvis broke the heart of Hidden Agent by wearing him down close home in the valuable INH Stallion Owners EBF Novice Handicap Hurdle.

Philip Carberry looked to have stolen a march on Hidden Agent when going well clear a long way from home, but he began to tread water heading to the last and he had no answer when the 11-2 joint-favourite stayed on past him on the run to the line.

Liz Lalor produced a polished ride from the front to get Carrigeen Kalmia home in the Irish Thoroughbred Breeders Association (Meath Region) Mares Chase.

Backed into 6-4 favourite, the nine-year-old appeared to enjoy herself, jumping cleanly at the head of affairs.

Her main market rival Candy Girl loomed up under Ruby Walsh to dispute the lead on landing over the last, but Lalor had saved some petrol and her mount responded willingly to stay on for a length-and-a-quarter verdict.

Walsh went one better and initated a double when Rossbeigh obliged as

market leader in the Bambury Bookmakers Handicap Hurdle.

Sent to the front approaching the turn for home in the two-and-a-half-mile heat, the 7-4 chance stuck to his guns well to beat Billy To Jack by five lengths.
