There is quality two-year-old action at Dundalk this evening and the Ger Lyons/Colin Keane combination have strong contenders in both Listed races with Pipsy and Rising Sign

Pipsy came up against a smart sort in King Cuan on debut at Cork before showing good speed throughout to score decisively next time at the Curragh.

The Kodiac filly now drops back to five furlongs in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Legacy Stakes and faces a stiff task against the likes of Royal Ascot winner Valiant Force and course winner Alabama

The five-furlong test is now an all-domestic affair as the Alice Haynes-trained Majestic Beauty (declared in error) is not travelling over.

The Lyons-trained Rising Sign created a big impression on debut at Punchestown and bids to follow up in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Star Appeal Stakes.

Kariyu looks a big threat for Michael O’Callaghan having won both starts including the Anglesey Stakes at the Curragh in July.

The first on an eight-race card, which also includes a high-class renewal of the Gateway Hotel Dundalk Race & Stay Race over five furlongs, gets underway at 5pm.

Racing also takes place this afternoon at Downpatrick with a seven-race jumping card beginning at 1.50.

The Gavin Cromwell yard continues in good form with another five winners over the past week and the Danestown trainer has bright prospects teaming up with Keith Donoghue in the opening three races.

The going at the northern venue is currently soft following 9mm of rain in the past 24 hours.

The forecast is mainly dry today with the chance of some passing showers (up to 5mm approx.)
