The Ger Lyons-trained Dumb Love rallied gamely to get back on top in the closing stages and open her account in the fillies maiden at Bellewstown.

Jack Kearney made the running in the extended seven-furlong contest on the Starspangledbanner filly but she was strongly pressed passing the furlong marker by Beauty Bella

That rival gained a narrow advantage crossing the road but Dumb Love battled back to regain the lead in the closing stages and record a half length win at odds of 9/2.

“She tried hard there, the blinkers made a difference and made her concentrate,” said assistant Shane Lyons afterwards.

“Jack was good on her. I'm surprised that she liked that ground so that opens up a few more doors for her.

“She'll get an extra furlong, if not two. We'll go back to the book now and see what comes up.”
