Moyglare Stud, Dermot Weld and Declan McDonogh completed a first and last race double at Killarney today when Falcon Eight (5/4 into evens) took the JOC Metal Fabrication Limited Race.

McDonogh got there late on Third World in the opener, but this time it was easier as Falcon Eight achieved the success by no less than five and a half lengths.

The former champion jockey pulled the Curragh maiden victor out to have a crack at Light Pillar and Legal Spin from over a furlong out.

From there the son of Galileo was soon in front on his way to what was an impressive win.

"He is learning how to be a racehorse and is still very immature and is far from the finished article," said Weld's son Kris.

"We hope he will make into a very nice four year old next year and we've had to be patient with him and it's paying off. He'll have one more run this year in six weeks time.

"By the way he is bred you'd hope he might end up being something and he hasn't let us down to date.

"He won't be a St Leger horse this year but it would be lovely if he made into an Irish St Leger horse next year; it's a race dad has a good record in so it would be nice to add to it. We'll take baby steps for now and see where we end up."
