The Marie Harding trained Icantsay sprang a 20/1 surprise in the Follow Us On Twitter Maiden Hurdle.

Successful in a point-to-point at Dromahane in April, the six-year-old son of Spadoun was since well beaten over the course and distance in May, before he was left at the start on his most recent outing at Ballinrobe.

Having led and disputed throughout, he went clear approaching the straight for the final time. He was pressed by Call Vinnie from the second last, but he pulled out more on the run-in, going on to score by four lengths under Adrian Heskin.

The runner-up was returned at 7/1 under Ricky Doyle for Robbie McNamara, while Battle Of Clontarf (8/1) was six and a half lengths back in third under Andrew Lynch for Kieran Purcell. Indian Court was sent off the 15/8 favourite (from 11/4) and he finished a disappointing sixth under David Mullins (his first day back from injury) for his father Tom.
