The Ted Walsh-trained Hanoi Jane sent off 15/8 favourite, was a decisive winner of the first division of the Join Us For Summer In Town Mini Festival Handicap Hurdle.

The daughter of Doyen had been running consistently in defeat in recent outings and was always travelling well just behind the leaders. Shane O'Callaghan sent her to the front after the second-last and she quickly went clear to beat Loup De Tallane by five lengths.

Ted Walsh said: “She had some good runs and last time in Ballinrobe (third) he maybe should have let her roll on a sharper track.

“She’ll win another one. She jumps well, stays well and might win a little novice chase.

“The O’Reilly’s (Peter and Rose) also bred her and it’s great for them that she has won here. She’ll keep going for the summer.

“I must say Punchestown have done an absolutely terrific job with the ground. We have had no rain for a week and it's beautiful ground.”
