Nedera got off the mark on her ninth career start as she took the second division of the Crowne Plaza Leading Jockey & Trainer Handicap, scoring under Colin Keane for Tom McCourt and owner Barry Doyle.

The three-year-old daughter of Sakhee finished third to Beau Satchel on her penultimate start over the course and distance earlier this month.

She was a bit disappointing on her next outing when finishing sixth of fourteen to Misty Lane and she was sent off an 8/1 (from 10’s) chance this evening.

Settled in mid-division she was fifth entering the straight and improved to challenge from a furlong and a half out.

She was ridden to the front at the furlong pole and kept on well from there to score by a length and a quarter. Anner Queen (12/1) finished second under Rory Cleary for Tony Martin while the 6/4 favourite Rose Angel could only manage a disappointing third a further three parts of a length back under Robbie Downey for Peter Casey.

Tom McCourt said afterwards: "Her second last run entitled her to go close as she was only a length off The Dancing Lord

"Seven furlongs the last day was a bit sharp and she was drawn wide. She's a nice filly but was a bit backward and has taken a bit of time.

"If she's none the worse, she has suffered from shins, she'll come back here on Wednesday. We'll keep her going up to Christmas and see how she goes."
