Captain Carol landed the odds in the concluding bumper at Wexford when making all under Patrick Mullins.

The Captain Rio mare, who was second on her Roscommon debut, bounced out in front in the two-miler and responded well when asked for an effort inside the final furlong.

The well-backed Willie Mullins-trained 8/13 favourite (11/10 this morning) kept on in the closing stages to hold the experienced Table Tips by a length.

"She is a very honest filly, she is a push button ride. She is very, very professional for such a young four-year-old,” said Patrick Mullins.

“She is a half-sister to Strain Of Fame who was going to win in Thurles the other day and my mother bred the two of them. The mare was unfortunately killed in a lightening storm.

“She will jump a hurdle and I'd say she'll go over hurdles next. She is not very big and whether she will go on softer ground is a question mark.

“She has got her win now and that is great. I got drafted in to drive this one down today so its a good days work!"

Winning owner MJ Mulvaney is a priest based in Roscommon, and orginally from Sligo. He also has Noble Inn with Mullins.
