Dundalk Sat, 13th Apr, 2024  Heart Of Darkness She's improved in the two weeks (since her debut) and I think the surface has probably helped her. I'm delighted she's won, they are important colours. She ran well first time but I'd say she just didn't love the soft ground, she's enjoyed that surface today. She's a nice filly and I think we'll look at stakes races for the rest of the year. Something like the Polonia, if the ground was quick we might go back to Cork.

Dundalk Wed, 14th Feb, 2024  Rebelsontherun It was a close call at the line and I'm delighted we got our head in front again - obviously sharing the spoils with Jamie. I got rolling plenty early and my filly stays very well and is tough. it probably suited my lad the way the race unfolded. I was able to get rolling early, he took a bit of time to get into gear but, to be fair, passing the furlong pole he was in top gear and he hit the line well.

Dundalk Fri, 2nd Feb, 2024  Mulgrave Down to a mark that he can win off. He's a very hard horse to train and ride in the races as he is very, very keen. Siobhan (Rutledge) does a brilliant job on him at home and keeps the lid on him the whole time. That makes him hard to train because you can never work him which means you are kind of undertraining him the whole time. He has a lot of ability when things fall right for him. The syndicate know him and are very patient with him. Delighted for him and another good ride by Donagh there, he is riding very well. He did (go to the All Weather Championships last year) and he could possibly go again. There is another race for him here next week. We might come back for that, we will see how he is. He was unlucky last year (in Lingfield), he didn't get the clearest of runs and flew home. It was a good day out and they enjoyed it, so we'll see. Delighted for them to get their win today.

Dundalk Fri, 26th Jan, 2024  Phil's Dream he has been frustrating. He has always worked well and hasn't delivered and we have tried everything. Derek (Kierans, owner) has been very patient with him. He was dropping down to five (furlongs) and, looking at that, he would definitely stay six. We thought he would run very well at six two runs back but didn't, and we couldn't find a reason. Maybe the whole thing will make a man of him, and he might go forward. Somebody must have had a little whisper in his ear telling him he was in the last-chance saloon!. it is great to get him up and Donagh did very well there because he got checked just when he needed to get out and got him up on the line. He'll keep going over five and six here. He (handicapper) can't be too harsh as it was a nose and sometimes with these sprinters when the penny drops, it really drops.
