An enquiry was held to consider interference after the final hurdle when the winner, One Handsome Dude (IRE), ridden by Lee Edwards, interfered with College Oak (GB), placed third, ridden by Alexander Thorne.
Edwards was cautioned for careless riding as he was slow to correct his mount from drifting left- handed, carrying College Oak (GB) off its intended line.
The performance of African Dance (IRE), which started favourite and finished placed fourth, was considered.
Olly Murphy could offer no explanation for the gelding’s performance.
The performance of Scarpia (IRE), which finished unplaced, was considered.
Nicky Henderson's representative's explanation that the gelding was unsuited by being unable to dominate on this occasion was noted.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Forgot One (IRE), unplaced, had lost its left fore shoe and that Westtara (GB), unplaced, had lost its right fore shoe.
