Having been examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, Megalodon (IRE) was deemed fit to race.
Shortly after the start, Megalodon (IRE), placed sixth, hung right-handed causing Hickey's Rock (IRE), placed seventh, to be steadied when tightened for room, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Megalodon (IRE).
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Hickey's Rock (IRE), placed seventh, bled from the nose.
