The Stewards received a report from Ms. Nicola O'Connor, Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer, in relation to the passport presented for Annie Clouds for identification purposes in accordance with Rule 90. Ms. O'Connor stated that there were a number of differences between the markings of the animal and the markings description contained within the passport but the microchip number was in agreement. She stated that she could not positively identify Annie Clouds from the documentation submitted. Patrick Neville, trainer of Annie Clouds admitted that he had failed to comply with R8(A)(2) by not checking the markings when receiving the animal and furthermore had failed to endorse the passport. He admitted to signing the naming form by microchip identity only. He accepted the Veterinary Officers findings. Having considered the report, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Annie Clouds under the provisions of Rule 90 (v) and referred the matter to a Senior Racing Official for further investigation.
