An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately 1 furlong after the start when Santorini Sal (GB), placed eighth, ridden by Mitch Godwin, interfered with Luna Wish (GB), placed second, ridden by Franny Norton, who in turn interfered with the winner, Lethal Talent (GB), ridden by Tyler Saunders, who in turn interfered with Bacchalot (IRE), placed third, ridden by Oisin Murphy.
Being a 7lb claiming apprentice, Saunders was offered the opportunity to be accompanied in the enquiry but declined.
Godwin was suspended for 3 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift right-handed without sufficient correction causing Norton to take a check whilst being carried off his intended line on to Saunders resulting in Murphy having to take a slight check.
Following the race, Hollie Doyle reported that NOW I’M A BELIEVER, unplaced, was never travelling.
